This apartment complex was built in 1992 in its excellent location within walking distance to downtown, to the universities and to elementary, middle and high schools. It is adjacent to the YMCA, a block from Sobeys Supermarket and there is a bus stop nearby. FEATURES: An elevator services all four floors and there are two coin –op laundry rooms located in the building. The 40 unit building  has spacious two and three bedroom apartments. All units have electric baseboard heat, fridge, stove and dishwasher.  Most units have a combination of ceramic and or laminate and carpeting. All upper units have private balconies.  The property has lots of exterior parking, five garage units available for rent and a locked bike shed. NAME ORIGIN: Named after the Frogmore Estate in England located next to Windsor Castle, where Queen Victoria is buried along with Edward VII and his American wife Wallis Simpson. Originally there was a frog pond at the foot of this hillside property, from which local children caught pollywogs in the spring. In winter, the pond was also used for skating parties in the early days and ice hockey in later years. HISTORY: The property was originally granted to Loyalist George Sproule in 1783.The property changed hands over the years and was gradually reduced in size to about five acres, bounded by York, Regent and Albert Streets and the railroad tracks on the north. Lumber baron Ashley Colter lived in the grand house, which was divided into three units to accommodate his extended family.
